Be Bold Not Bald: Vitamin C Hair Loss Saviour

Dr Michael Prager says his Urban Protect Vitamin C Serum has helped his own hair loss, restoring his thinning hairline.
Dr Prager's Urban Protect Vitamin C Serum is a serious hair loss saviour

An Accidental Hair Loss Breakthrough

As many of you know, I live in a very sunny climate, and I believe that even without SPF, I can spend time in the sun safely, or even safer than with SPF, by using a quality vitamin C serum.

We know this from the godfather of skin research, the late Sheldon Pinnell (click here to read his study) that vitamin C in a certain concentration, a certain formulation, increases the skin’s resistance against UV damage by up to eight times.

So, that’s what I use and I’ve never burned in the six years I have lived in Cyprus.

Now, I don’t really like putting stuff on my skin – on my face or anywhere else – especially when it’s hot. So, I started putting my vitamin C serum further and further into my hairline as I’m active and also spend time in the water.

Sheldon Pinnell, who I once did conferences with, and who did tutorials for us when I was still selling SkinCeuticals before it was taken over by L’Oreal, said that it basically didn’t matter where you put vitamin C because the skin will absorb and distribute it.

So, I thought, ‘Well, if I put a lot into my hairline and beyond, it will still help my face.” And it did.

I used to have very bad pigmentation, which I got during a Caribbean holiday when I was using retinol – which is why I never, ever endorse or use anything with a high concentration of retinol.

So, yes, I apply a generous amount of my vitamin C serum just along my hairline and forehead, and I’ve been doing that for maybe a year or so.

In that time, I have seen the little hair follicles around my face that didn’t want to grow anymore, and even the ones that had turned grey at my hairline, turn into fully functional hair again.

Really, I’m not making this up, and I will continue to apply my vitamin C serum in this way because it’s clear that I’m onto a winner here.

Obviously, it’s a bit too early to talk about total proof that this works, but when you read about all the workings of antioxidants and the damage to hair follicles caused by UV light, protecting hair follicles with vitamin C makes a lot of sense.

Winning Not Thinning

While I know that my vitamin C serum is working for me, for anybody who feels doubtful – and I would be if I used somebody else’s vitamin C, because that certainly is not going to make your hair grow, I can almost wager on that, but keep on trying – we can offer you another solution at the Prager Clinic.

Our hair loss treatment is a combination of platelet-rich plasma (PRP), stem cell exosomes, and photobiostimulation, all of which have had very promising results as illustrated by one of Dr Lizzie Tuckey’s most recent patients.

PRP treatment at the Prager Clinic for hair loss
PRP Hair Loss Treatment: amazing results in only three months.

Over the course of three treatments in the space of three months, this patient underwent PRP – using her own blood for the platelets – and stem cell exosomes injected into the scalp, as well as a 20-minute course of photobiostimulation.

Platelet-rich plasma is rich with nutrients, stem cells and growth factors that stimulate new hair growth by activating hair follicles, improving blood supply, and increasing the length of the hair growth cycle. As the patient’s own blood is used there are no side effects.

Exosomes are membrane-bound vesicles (sacs) produced by stem cells that essentially tell other cells what to do, like ordering hair follicles to speed up the hair growth cycle.

Low-level photobiostimulation laser light treatment further stimulates hair follicles to move into growth phase.

And, as you can see, the results are impressive.

Now For The Bad News … There’s a Waiting List for the Serum

In my opinion, if you go down the line and have the PRP, then my vitamin C serum is, for sure, the best way of maintaining that progress and restoring your hairline.

The only problem is, our vitamin C serum has sold out because it is, after all, the best vitamin C serum on the market.

The good news is that we are very soon going to have an even better product available.

Because we are, for the moment, supplying through the clinic only, we can bypass some of the over-the-counter regulations in regard to the limits on active ingredients, which will make our vitamin C serum even more potent.

Obviously, we’ll let you know when an over-the-counter version is available, but do feel free to call into at the clinic, and we will give you a vial of our incredibly potent, clinic-quality, vitamin C serum to try. You can then add your name to the waiting list.

You can find the Prager Clinic at 52 Beauchamp Place, London, SW3 1NY. Alternatively, call us on +44 (0)20 3198 3098 or email at bookings@drmichaelprager.com and we will see what we can do.
