REAL CLIENTS, REAL RESULTS

BECAUSE OUR ANTI-AGEING FACIALS ACTUALLY WORK

Meet Karen, a Prager Clinic client who very kindly allowed us to document her progress as we worked to achieve the smoother, clearer, younger-looking skin she yearned for.

Using Visia Analysis to reveal where our help was needed, therapist Kerri made minor adjustments to our extremely popular skin-resurfacing facial, the Rejuvenator, in order to tackle Karen’s most compromised areas.

In just three weeks – yes, that’s three weeks – there was a massive improvement in Karen’s skin tone, texture, fine lines and blemishes.

And the really good news is, this facial continues to work its magic – stimulating the holy grail of youth that is collagen production – for up to three months after treatment ends.

The Six Signs of Ageing – Before and After Shots

Fine lines

Wrinkles are one of the most obvious signs of ageing and they are most prominent on thirsty or sun-exposed skin. While genetics play a large part in determining how our skin ages, unprotected exposure to the sun, smoking and environmental pollutants are all major causes of wrinkles.

At The Prager Clinic we combine years of expertise with the best skin-resurfacing treatments – as well as quality, home-produced products – to gently remove the top layer of skin, which then heats the layers underneath to stimulate collagen production. This process promotes a smoother, more even texture as the skin heals.

Brown spots

Brown spots – also known as liver spots – are another distinct and obvious sign of ageing. An unsightly result of hyperpigmentation, these darkened areas of skin are also known as age spots or sun spots. Whatever the name, the fact is, much like any other kind of spot, you don’t want them on your face.

For Karen’s brown spots, the Rejuvenator facial broke up the pigmentation with great affect while stimulating collagen production to rejuvenate the skin and minimise discolouration.

Red spots

Great red spots reduction

Red spots can be indicative of a variety of conditions, such as acne, inflammation, Rosacea or spider veins, but with targeted facials combined with the right skincare products these can be significantly reduced, as our pictures show.

Karen’s red spots were dramatically reduced thanks to Kerri’s expert care in removing dead cells from the surface of the skin and brightening the exposed layers.

Pores

Pores are visibly improved on Karen’s cheeks

As we age, the process of shedding old skin cells leading to the formation of new skin cells decreases dramatically, resulting in bigger, more open and clogged pores. Previously tight pores also ‘stretch’ due to skin degeneration caused by time.

Again, as our Visia Analysis photos verify, Karen’s pores responded well to Kerri’s care with a significant reduction in large, open pores, particularly on the cheek areas.

UV spots

Sun damage can be repaired with Prager treatments

Over-exposure to UV radiation results in the formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), which cause untold damage to the main proteins that make up skin, collagen and elastin.

This is why it is vital that skin-resurfacing treatments are accompanied by high-quality, vitamin-rich skin care products that protect and nourish. At The Prager Clinic we ONLY use the Dr Michael Prager Urban Protect skincare range because it’s the only way we can be 100% confident in the quality and the results they bring.

We strongly advise our clients to invest in the range – prior, during and post treatment. This is not a sales push; it’s about doing right by our clients and it would be remiss of us to offer up treatments and tell you it’s OK to use inferior products. It all matters if skin longevity is the goal rather than a quick, temporary fix.

Texture

Softer, smoother skin after Karen’s Prager facials

As we grow older, skin cell turnover slows which leads to a buildup up of dead skin cells that cause tired, dull-looking skin. The result is uneven texture, and coarse, dry skin, which can also lead to enlarged pores and acne.

Again, using our Rejuvenator facial techniques to remove the thin outer layer of skin and stimulate the growth of collagen, skin firmness and texture is dramatically improved. As the skin continues to heal and regrow, the treated area will look increasingly smoother and tighter.

The Process in Photos

Karen’s treatments were designed specifically to get the results she wanted and her skin needed. Therefore, Kerri opted for a more intense anti-ageing treatment for Karen’s compromised skin to achieve maximum results. As ever, the downtime period is always dependent on natural skin sensitivity levels, but our photos show Karen before treatment, during treatment, immediately post treatment and three weeks later.

Oh, and I think we should point out that Karen is 60 years old.  Yes, you read that right. Sixty.
